For more than two decades, Joi has been helping swimmers discover confidence, joy, and a lifelong love of the water. What began as teaching swim lessons at sixteen has grown into a passion for creating safe, encouraging experiences for every age—from tiny first splashes to adults finding the courage to overcome their fears.

With patience, kindness, and safety at the heart of every lesson, she believes the water should never be something to fear, but a place where confidence can flourish and unforgettable memories are made.

Beyond private swim instruction, Joi is a certified lifeguard and certified pool operator, providing professional aquatic support for private events, parties, and poolside gatherings. And true to the spirit of Making Merfolk, she occasionally trades fins for feet—or perhaps the other way around. As a professional mermaid, she brings imagination to life through enchanting appearances that blend fantasy, storytelling, and water safety into magical experiences children will remember long after the tide rolls out.

    Swim Lessons

    $50 per 30 mins

    Small, personalized swim lessons for all ages and levels; from water babies to adult beginners. With no more than 3 swimmers per class, each session is focused, supportive, and safety-centered. Learn to love the water at your own pace!
